Mr. Reynolds, a native of Dickson County, is a graduate of Austin Peay State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science. He received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Nashville School of Law in 1978. He began his legal career in 1978 as an associate with the law firm of Smith, Davies, Smith & Cantrell in Nashville, Tennessee, practicing in Circuit and Chancery Courts, including the U.S. District Court and U.S. Bankruptcy Court. In 1980 he opened his law office in Dickson, Dickson County, Tennessee, practicing general law, including Circuit, Chancery and Appellate Courts.

Mr. Reynolds is the past President of the Dickson Rotary Club; past President of Tennessee Municipal Attorneys Association; past President of Dickson County Bar Association; past Chairman of the Board of Directors of Developmental Services of Dickson County; City Attorney for the Town of White Bluff (1995 to 2015); City Attorney for the Town of Vanleer (1993 to 2008); former Assistant City Attorney for the City of Dickson (1995 to 1999); former panel attorney for Tennessee Farmers Mutual Insurance Company. Reynolds, Potter, Ragan & Vandivort, PLC was retained as legal counsel for Dickson County in 2007.

Mr. Reynolds and his wife, Linda, a Dickson school teacher for over 30 years, have two grown children and four grandchildren. Their daughter, Amber Potter, is also a Dickson school teacher. Their son, Alex Q. Reynolds, is a CPA. Mr. Reynolds’ family has been in Dickson County for over 200 years. His great-great-grandfather was a Revolutionary War veteran, his great-grandfather was a Civil War veteran, his grandfather a World War I veteran, his father was a World War II veteran, and Mr. Reynolds served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Reynolds also holds a Coast Guard Captain’s license and is an avid boater, golfer, and enjoys riding classic motorcycles.
